D's Academic Performance. Every May, students in each class do a presentation of what they've learned for the parents to see. D's 1st grade performance this year included singing and dancing.
A picture with Lin Laoshi. We love Lin Laoshi!
I can't believe M will start kindergarten next fall. I will miss our fun times together!
Making super balls
Silly boy. He is wearing size 18 months shorts in this picture that somehow never got taken out of the loop (there were several pairs, actually). And yes, they still fit (at age 5 1/2!!!)
Switched to a more appropriate sized pair of shorts.
Salami boy strikes again.
We took a field trip with some friends to the Wildlife Science Center and got to see a lot of wolves.
We also saw some birds...
...and bears.
After the field trip, we decided to take advantage of the fact that we were so close to Grammy and Papa's house and stopped there for some one-on-one fishing time.
I got the six straw bales set up in our home backyard ready for planting.
Rafa came to stay with us a week before the Pelican Rapids missions trip our church does every summer. We realized the last time we saw him was right before we were married--almost nine years ago! So fun to see him again.
D is all ready for her last day of 1st grade. She will be participating in an Olympic style field day. Her class will be representing Brazil.
Lin Laoshi leads the 1A troops onto the field.
And she's off!
M and I came to watch the festivities.
Lin Laoshi let Buddy go through the obstacle course, too.
Time for a treat.

Showing off her medal.
Veronica came and stayed with us for one night before Rafa and her left for Pelican Rapids (which also happened to be the last day of school). She had lived with us for the summer five years ago when D was only two and M was just a baby.
The Saturday after the last day of school, we got to attend the wedding of D's 1st grade teacher, Lin Laoshi. She got to see a lot of her teachers there.
Her assistant teacher, Wu Laoshi.
Lin Laoshi (Cecilia) and Jeff at the reception.
Ms. Henning, music teacher.
Other 1st grade teachers who sang at the reception.
A change of clothing.
Cutting the cake.
Throwing the bouquet.
Congratulations!
