Here is how we celebrated Memorial Day Weekend this year.

We left for the cabin Friday morning and did a lot of swimming there--especially D. She begged to go out there as soon as she woke up each morning, even Monday when it was so cool out that she wanted her winter jacket to wear outside. M went in the first day, then wasn't so much into the whole swimming thing. He loved watching D go down the slide though.

Our friends Ron and Jennifer came up for part of the weekend and their son's favorite toy, a MagnaDoodle, accidentally got left behind. It turned out to be D and M's favorite toy, too, and they enjoyed the pictures Daddy made for them.
The neighbors at the cabin invited us over for a pot luck on Sunday. I wasn't sure what to expect--I thought it was going to be just the family we met back in November and one other cabin owner, but it was with all of the cabin owners on Whitetail Drive. It was great to meet everyone and get to know our neighbors. D and M went crazy when they saw the patriotic cupcakes come out.
D and M also learned to play the bean bag toss game.
We went to the beach at Crooked Lake in Siren on Monday for a picnic and to give D a little larger area to splash around in than our pint-sized pool. She loved it!

M made a beeline when he saw the bouncy riding toys. He loves those things and had to try them all out.
M finally decided to try out the water, too.

We went for one last walk before heading home. It was shortlived, though, as the mosquitos were terrible. That didn't stop them from all biting M, who had huge welts all over his legs and arms. Poor guy!
