State Fair 2014

Julia, Jared and I ran the State Fair Milk Run. Coincidentally, we parked outside a house that had the same street address as my bib number. Weird!

Do we look awake? It's early!

Post race with our new shirts.

And malts.

Learning CPR in one of the health buildings.

One of our traditions-the Little Hands Farm.

Lulu saved her money to buy a new cowgirl hat.

Sweet Martha's cookies!

Something new: the shooting arcade.

The kids with the goodies Grandma and Papa got them at the State Fair. Lulu got a fan.

And Buddy got handcuffs. He REALLY wanted those handcuffs.

He dressed like a police officer the next day.

Steve and Gary got the Stihl light all hung up.

Summer 2014 Part IV

We spent a day in Stillwater while Steve's parents were here.

Cowgirl and cowboy.

We finally got a bed for ourselves at the cabin.

Playing Battleship with Papa.

Painting the rockets. They are almost ready for launching.

 More work on the rocket.

Getting ready to launch. They were fun to watch.

 Bulldozing.

Trip to Upper Peninsula Michigan Lodge

We spent six days at a lodge on Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with our family, Steve's parents, my parents, and my sister's family. This was to celebrate Steve and I's 10 year wedding anniversary. We stopped in Duluth on our way there.

We also got to visit St. Luke's in Duluth to get Buddy's ear looked at. Just an ear infection, but glad we had meds for it for the rest of the trip!

View of the living room from the loft.

The loft.

Game room in the basement.

We went hiking and saw some beautiful waterfalls.

Lunch time!

Time to explore the suspension bridge.

Lulu couldn't wait to hop into Lake Superior.

Buddy was not as eager.

Tie Dye Fun

Bumming around Bayfield, WI.

We even got our hands on some elusive wine bread.

We divided up into teams for a bean bag toss tournament. The teams were:

I was the official scorekeeper.

 And the winners were…the Grandmas!

Craft time for the boys.

 Hiking to some falls.

Cooling off on a warm day in Lake Superior.

Dan and I even jumped in. Brrr.

Relaxing back at the cabin.

Lots of frogs on this beach.

Another beach! Actually, I think this is Little Girl Point again. The best rocks are here!

 Yup.

The water just calls to her.

More rock art.

The girls and Dan climbed down the rocky cliffs to reach Lake Superior several times.

Looking out over Lake Superior on our last night at the lodge.

 All the Stiehl men.

The sunset-cicle treats Steve got for all the kids.

Gorgeous! Worth the wait.
