Mr. and Mrs. Pumpkin Heads

A girl and her cat.

We decorated some pumpkins Mr. Potato Head-style on Tuesday evening. Here is the before for D's pumpkin...

...and the after. Now it's a princess.

M's pumpkin before...

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

An unfortunate incident with M's hair and a gummy bear...luckily warm water in the bath made it just slip out. I thought I was going to have to buzz all of his hair off! I love that long hair.

Luna and D definately have a special bond. I think Luna knows the stories as well as D does with all the books she gets read to her.

Speaking of hair...today my friend Nikki cut both the kids' hair. D got a trim. Here she is before...

...and after. I think it actually looks longer in the after because it's wet.

I love M's long hair, but he has a serious bird's nest issue going on in the back of his head. Anytime he lays down to sleep, nap, or when his head touches his carseat headrest, he gets this crazy fuzzy hair that just won't stay down. I wanted to try and alleviate this problem, but still keep his hair long-ish. Here is M's before picture...

...and after. How handsome!

Fall Fest

We went to Linder's Fall Fest this Saturday. D picked out one of her princess dresses and M...well, I realized I need to get him a new costume for this year! I dug out his monkey one from last year, which still technically fit--as capris.

More on where in the world this room is in our house later...

Going on the horse-drawn hayride.

Standing by the giant pumpkin.

Going through the maze of haystacks.

Both kids went on pony rides. Here is D on Sylvia.

M got to ride Sparkles.

I know this is off-topic, but don't we have the most pathetic cat ever? She really wants to be outside in the nice weather.

Going for a walk in the woods behind our house.

Grandma and Papa gave M an early birthday present--a riding horse!

Saturday we went to the Teddy Bear Park, then Nelson's for one last ice cream run of the season.

Aunt Becky brought a gingerbread house for the kids to put together. They had fun building it...

...and eating it!

Here is one of the projects Grandma, Papa, and Aunt Becky helped with this weekend--transforming the last "undone" corner of the playroom into a book nook. It looks great! Thanks for your help!

One last snuggle before heading home.

Another beautiful hairstyle brought to you by Aunt Becky.

Extended Weekend at the Cabin

Grandma and Papa are in town from Colorado and brought these warm snuggly blankets that have become the kids' favorites.

Book reading time.

The kids modeled some of the new clothes they got from Grandma and Papa.

Steve's sister Becky got in to town Friday and we all headed up to the cabin. She brought these aprons for the kids and they wore them all weekend long--even out to dinner and to bed.

Good times at the cabin.

It was a beautiful weekend at the cabin--warm weather and great colors on the leaves. We had a campfire a couple of nights.

The kids doing one of their favorite fall-time activities--collecting leaves.

My side of the family came up to the cabin Sunday to celebrate September and October birthdays. The cousins all had a great time together. Do you like the boys in their matching camo outfits?

Dan managed to fit all five grandkids/nieces/nephews/cousins on the four-wheeler for a ride.

On Monday, we decided to take a day trip to Hayward, Wisconsin to do some shopping.

We also saw some cranberry bogs along our drive there. I was unaware that Wisconsin was a big producer of cranberries!

Aunt Becky curled D's hair--she loved it!

D made "lunch" for Aunt Becky and Grandma.

Working the field.

Going for a ride.
