State Fair 2013

My favorite time of year...State Fair time! We did a lot of our traditional things.

The kids got to work on a farm.

And check out fun new toys.

They even got to go fishing.

American Gothic

Craft time in the Eco Building.

The kids just love these things.

Posing next to Goldy the Gopher.

Can't forget about the food. Our favorite fries.

Our favorite malts.

Having fun watching newborn animals.

Ok, back to the food. We tried poutine to whet our appetites for the real thing in Quebec this fall.

Two little piggies :)

Newspaper hats from the Free Press building.

Fun times on the giant slide.

And more food. One of our favorites...fried pickles with ranch dip. Yum!

Now we're talking. Sweet Martha's Cookies. Nothing better with all-you-can-drink milk.

Every year when we walk through the Midway, someone gives the kids something they won there. Every year! It's great, we don't need to spend the money but the kids get a prize. They've gotten stuffed animals, balls, glow wands, and this year the money bat. I guess beggars can't be choosers. They loved it!

Summer Fun

Other tidbits from our summer.
The kids got to march in the Roseville parade with Steve.

My neighbor and I watched the parade together. Her husband and kids were in the parade, too.

Another tooth gone!

Skid out on the bike at the cabin. Oops! And ow!

Pool time at Anders' and Annika's house.

Archery class for the kids.

 The German-fest in New Ulm.

The kids spent the weekend with their cousins at their cabin.

Friends and cousins.

Meanwhile, Steve and I got the cabin ready for staining.

The following weekend my parents watched the kids and we finished our work on the cabin.

Boy, our porch looks thirsty. We need to stain that, too!

We managed to squeeze in some berry picking time.

Going to the Lake Josephine Beach to meet friends for a swim.

Fresh new haircuts.

Watching musicians and dancers at the Irish Fair.

Chino and Mercedes, missionaries from Mexico who have stayed with us several times before, were in MN for a visit and got to stay with us for a while.

Swimming at Stacy's.
